The Deuter Speed Lite 17 is an ultralight trekking backpack with a capacity of 17 liters, perfect for quick adventures in the outdoors. It's made from durable yet lightweight 140D REC PA RS material, which is recycled and bluesign® certified. Additionally, the material is treated with a PFC-free DWR (Durable Water Repellency) coating to enhance durability, waterproofness, and reduce susceptibility to dirt. Thanks to the use of appropriate materials and the lightweight Deuter Lite System carrying system, the manufacturer has managed to reduce the weight of the backpack to just 390 grams.

The Deuter Speed Lite 17 features an innovative Deuter Lite System carrying system, based on a lightweight U-shaped Delrin® frame, providing even weight distribution and backpack stability while maintaining structural flexibility. This solution ensures comfort throughout the journey. The backpack's back panel is covered with breathable 3D Air Mesh fabric, promoting air circulation. Additionally, ergonomic and ventilated shoulder straps increase carrying comfort. The backpack's design is tailored for active individuals, so its tapered silhouette towards the bottom doesn't restrict movement, such as during running. The detachable hip belt aims to support the backpack and reduce back strain by transferring the load to the hips, ensuring user comfort.

The Deuter Speed Lite 17 is equipped with a single main compartment secured with a wide zipper, facilitating quick access to its interior. An ample pocket inside the compartment can be used to store wet clothes, and thanks to the hydration system exit and hanger on the rear panel, the user can attach a 2-liter maximum capacity hydration bladder (bladder available separately). Additionally, a small zippered pocket at the top of the backpack provides additional space for storing small items and personal belongings. Two elastic side pockets easily accommodate water bottles or other handy accessories. The backpack also features glasses holder loops on the harness straps and four loops on the front, allowing for attaching the Deuter Helmet Holder (holder available separately).
